On April 1, 1902 the Highland Golf Club first opened consisting of 5 holes – 3 par threes and 2 par fours – which 26 years later became the Pequabuck Golf Club, Inc. During the Great Depression many golf clubs in America closed however Pequabuck survived. The man most influential in the development of the Pequabuck Golf Club was Harry I. Bartholomew.
One of the original founders of the Central Connecticut Golf Association (CCGA) in 1927, Mr. Bartholomew was instrumental in donating and securing the land for the expansion of the course. From its modest beginnings PGC has been developed and run as a “working man’s” golf club focused on keeping membership cost reasonable in order for all to enjoy the game.
